On the morning of June 14, 2023, the exhibition of "Promoting the Spirit of the Great Party's Founding and Cultivating Fashion Designers" was held at the Yan'an Road campus of Donghua University in collaboration with the Memorial Museum of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China and Shanghai International College of Fashion and Innovation of Donghua University （SCF）. Deputy Director Ruan Jun of the Memorial Museum of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China； Liu Chenggong, Party Secretary of Donghua University；Li Jun, Dean of the Shanghai International College of Fashion and Innovation (SCF)； Lin Wenwei, Party Secretary of the Joint College of Donghua University, and other leaders attended the event and delivered important speeches.

DU Studio was honored to be invited as a course instructor to collaborate with SCF of Donghua University on this special 6-week program. The on-site teaching exhibition will showcase the results of the sophomore-level "Interior Design Studio" course guided by Zhu Ping, the founder of DU Studio. The main project of the course is to enhance and transform the nationwide touring exhibition vehicle of The Special Exhibition on the Great Founding Spirit of the Communist Party of China that titled "The Great Spirit Forging a Great Era." Zhu Ping brought project practice experience into the classroom, emphasizing design innovation and guiding students to combine the presentation of a century of Party history with concepts such as artificial intelligence, sustainability, multimedia, and modularization, using modern techniques and the preferred methods of expression for the younger generation, integrating them into the exhibition vehicle design.

Twelve groups of students from the sophomore class of fashion interior design incorporated historical elements from various historical periods or events such as the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the New Culture Movement, and the Long March into the spatial design of the exhibition vehicle. They made full use of the vehicle's interior and exterior space to create a immersive, interactive exhibition that allows visitors to immerse themselves in the glorious journey of the Communist Party of China's century-long struggle. The course outcomes have received high recognition from the leaders and colleagues.

 

 

In her speech, Zhu Ping also expressed her appreciation of the combination of ideological and political education with classroom and hoping that through this course students could have a better understanding of innovation and design methods. More importantly, she hopes that the seeds of revolutionary spirit planted during this course and it can take root and sprout in them, inspiring them to work hard, taking up the baton from their predecessors, and writing their own brilliant chapters in life for contributing to the great rejuvenation of the motherland.
