Four years ago, DU STUDIO completed the interior design of Yutong Bus’s new 60,000 square meter headquarters, earning high praise from the client for our precise space planning, exceptional design concepts, and excellent execution. As one of the leading bus manufacturers in China, Yutong has always focused on product innovation and quality improvement. Similarly, in the design of its office environment, Yutong aims to enhance employee efficiency and overall workplace experience. This design project not only had to meet Yutong’s future development needs but also needed to reflect its modern, international corporate image.
Building on this foundation, DU STUDIO once again partnered with Yutong to further upgrade their existing headquarters. The primary focus of this upgrade includes optimizing the entrance lobby and a series of small, medium, and large meeting rooms. Although the project was temporarily paused due to the pandemic, we maintained close communication with the client, ensuring that every design detail aligned with Yutong's brand spirit and future direction.
As the project involves an older office building, there were certain structural limitations, particularly with regard to ceiling height. In our design process, we thoroughly analyzed the actual site conditions and implemented an innovative layout scheme that maximized the use of space between beams, enhancing the overall sense of openness and depth. Additionally, we addressed various needs such as acoustics, air conditioning, lighting, ergonomics, and intelligent control systems to ensure that each space provides an efficient and comfortable working environment.
In particular, for the design of the lecture halls, we used advanced acoustic materials and intelligent control systems to ensure excellent sound quality and a comfortable visual experience, even when accommodating large-scale meetings. Currently, two large lecture halls have been completed, and the design and construction of other areas are progressing steadily.
